Investigating the extent to which there has been an 'urban to rural' drift in recent years, and exploring the underlying trend in movement of population that has resulted from population decline in urban areas this report analyses the migration patterns in the North East. Focusing on the key urban areas of Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Darlington.
